Amber L. Cushing

I am a Lecturer (assistant professor) and Director of Digital Curation Programmes at the School of Information and Communication Studies at University College Dublin, Ireland.  AT UCD ICS, I also serve as Director of the PhD Programme.  My main area of interest is the intersection of maintaining behavior and personal information.  I am curious about how and why people, governments, and organisations maintain certain types of personal information over time, as well as how this information is or is not organised and made accessible.  This can include such things as why people maintain a personal collection for a digital legacy or the ways in which a museum attempts to personalise access to their collections via apps.  I am also interested in the structure, format, and/or behavior of personal information in society.

I hold a PhD from the School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
